One Path To It

Following Fundamentals

There’s so much joy in trusting the process. Not in the sense of “things happen, just roll with it”, but to have complete, unwavering faith and awareness in your actions that lead you closer to your goal.

“I need to get better at art.”

“I should draw what makes me happy.”

“This feels so insincere, I need to put more substance into this.”

“I should just give people what they want to see.”

I want all of this, but attributing one thing as the sole cause of an unpopular artpiece is damaging to the spirit. A message to a younger artist (me):

  • Improve at art because you love it.
  • Draw what makes you happy because you love it.
  • Add part of your experience to it because you love to.
  • Learn what people want to see because it emboldens your artistic integrity.

This is the process I want to follow holistically.
